Nonverbal Communications

Question: If much of what we communicate is nonverbal, why don't we study it in schools?

I am pretty sure we do study nonverbal communication in schools. What about drama class or art class? I believe I took a class in 9th grade called "Communications" where nonverbal communication was a large component.
