Wisdom

“Wisdom ceases to be wisdom when it becomes too proud to weep, too grave to laugh, and too selfish to seek other than itself.” ~ Kahlil Gibran

Question: Are crowds wise . . . . or merely smart? Or neither?

I suppose that a crowd could be wise if they are not too proud or too selfish and have love. I tend to favor that they are just really smart at times but there maybe a few "wise crowds" out there. Let me know when you locate one. Always hopeful. Thanks for the great wisdom link.

It's actually interesting to me that crowds (or networks) of people most often come up with better solutions than the smartest single person in that crowd. And it has to do with the diversity of perspectives and experience that we get at the table when we have a crowd.

I wrote about it here and there's a great video embedded in the post as well:

I like your site - thanks for the thought provoking posts!
