The Promise of Teaching by TV

Is there a lesson here?

Lesson here??? You bet! Television, or any other medium, doesn't always replace the teacher in the classroom. In the situations shown there was always a "teacher" (presumption)guiding the instructional experience. The "adult" example showed a different model with different expectations about the learning. Google Malcom Knowles or check http://tip.psychology.org/knowles.html

The lesson is that learning opportunities are best guided by clear outcomes. The choice of technology being integrated in the class is guided by crafty instructional design and not just the availability of a "show and tell" from beyond.
